Our trusted team here at BlueWhite Health is made up of registered Acupuncturists and experienced doctors of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and all are here to introduce you to safe, evidence-based treatment modalities that can provide effective and long-lasting health benefits.

Acupuncture can help treat a wide range of conditions, including neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, migraines and headaches, joint pain, tennis elbow, menopause, digestive disorders, constipation and diarrhea, insomnia, mood swings and related disorders, depression and anxiety, premenstrual syndrome, facial rejuvenation, and weight loss.

With the vast benefits of acupuncture, this treatment method is often covered by health insurance or, in the case of accident-related injuries, ICBC. That’s why it’s important to find out if your acupuncture services are covered.

Here are several ways to find out if your acupuncturist’s services are covered.

Make sure they’re licensed!

Acupuncturists in Canada need to be licensed, although not all provinces have the same set of standards. In British Columbia, the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists British Columbia is the outfit established for health professions, such as traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture.

Since April 1996, acupuncture has been a designated health profession under the Health Professions Act, which is regulated by the College, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists Regulation, and the bylaws of the College.

Check the acupuncturist’s website.

Oftentimes acupuncturists will have it listed on their website if their services are covered and how it will be billed. If you’re not sure, you can always give their offices a call.

If you’re looking for acupuncture services in Kamloops, BC, look no further than BlueWhite Health. Located on Seymour St. between 7th and 8th St., our clinic is in the Blue and White house, which has private parking at the back and two hours of free street parking in the front.

ICBC covers acupuncture.

If you were injured in an accident and are looking to reap the benefits of acupuncture, BlueWhite Health accepts ICBC direct billing. ICBC will cover up to 12 acupuncture sessions over 12 weeks. All you need is your claim number. And you do not need a doctor’s referral.

Note: To benefit from this service, you must be pre-approved for ICBC acupuncture sessions and know how many sessions you require with an end date.

Whether you are looking for acupuncture as a way to relieve chronic pain, heal an injury, or manage past trauma, BlueWhite Health can help. Each acupuncture treatment is tailored to the needs of the individual and the condition being treated. Contact us today to learn more!
